The hair-raising and heartbreaking show stars several talented young actors including new aspiring Irish actress Ruth Codd, who plays Ilonka’s flatmate Anya, a feisty transfemoral amputee who is terminally ill and lives at Brightcliffe Hospice.

The show’s producers reportedly first spotted the actress on TikTok (which she has since deleted), where she has boasted a large following for her videos raising awareness among the amputee community. But unsurprisingly, she’s shown her acting worth as she’s already bagged another role in Mike Flannagan’s next project titled The Fall of the House of Usher.

Many would have noticed that Anya had an amputated leg on the show, and while some might have thought this was created with special effects in post, in real life the actress is actually missing part of her leg, although it doesn’t hold her back in any Way!

While on TikTok, the star has been very vocal about her decision to amputate her right leg just below her knee at age 23, due to complications arising from a broken foot at age 15. She used her voice and multiple platforms to raise awareness about her across the amputee community and aimed to reduce the stigma people in her position experience on a daily basis.
