Afghan boy, 9, trapped in 33ft high well just weeks after rescue of trapped Moroccan boy Rayan ended in tragedy

A CHILD Afghan boy has been trapped in a 33ft well for the past two days.
It happened just two weeks after the tragic death of Five years old Rayan Awram after more than 100 hours trapped in a well in the village of Ighrane in Chefchaouen province, Morocco.
And now, another boy, identified as 9-year-old Haidar, appears to have been stuck down a well in the same way in the village of Shokok, in Zabul province, Afghanistan.
Heartbreaking footage of rescuers lowering the camera into the well shows the boy crying as he waits to be rescued.
His worried father can be heard asking “Are you okay, my son?
“Talk to me and don’t cry, we’re working to get you out.”
“Okay, I’ll keep talking,” the boy replied.
Officials said the boy appeared trapped about 33 feet down the 25 meter shaft.
Abdullah Azzam, secretary to Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar in the Taliban-run government, wrote on Twitter: “A team is there with ambulances, oxygen tanks and other necessary things.
Earlier this month, emergency services try to rescue Five-year-old Rayan on a five-day rescue mission.
But despite their heroic efforts, the boy had to deal with his injuries after being trapped in a space 18 inches below the ground for days.
Rayan’s devastated father was repairing the well at the time and says he took his eyes off his son for a moment.
Hundreds of people gathered at thebrother’s funeral to pay their respects while Rayan is mourning his parents was given to an honor guard.
