Western lowland monkey Shanga lovingly rocked the sleeping baby at Chessington World of Adventures in south-west London.

It was born in the early hours of Sunday morning and its gender is not yet known.
The child was sired by silverback Damisi, bringing the number of gorillas there to nine.
