ADAM Sandler has sparked concern after appearing on Good Morning America after suffering a brutal accident with a black eye.
The 55-year-old appeared on the daytime show to talk about his new Netflix film Hustle but it was his injury that stole the focus.
The actor sat down with some of the GMA anchors and said he needed to explain why he’s wearing a shiner.
“That’s something I need to discuss, right?” said the prankster while giggling.
The star then explained how the incident happened, revealing that he injured himself in the middle of the night.
He said, “You know how they tuck your sheets in underneath? Someone tucked the sheets in too much.
“I had my phone in the middle of the bed. I kicked up my feet to get it loose, my phone flew off and hit me in the head.”
Adam continued, “I refused to admit it. I felt blood and I said, ‘Ah, there’s something going on, but I need to sleep.’ Slept on, woke up…”
“There’s nothing cool about this thing,” Adam said, laughing.
He added: “It looks so cool. When I’m on the streets of New York, I see people saying, ‘Oh, ok. He loves to fight, that guy.’ I’m like, ‘Ah, it was a bed accident.’”
Fans rushed to react to Adam’s story, as one joked, “Who knew iPhones had knuckles?”
“I know the pain when I flick the blanket with my feet and the remote actually hits me in the face,” one interjected.
Another added: “It’s so understandable. I love Adam Sandler.”
The Saturday Night Live graduate is no stranger to appearing on the small screen with injuries, having suffered a black eye back in 2015 during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel.
The comic revealed he suffered the unfortunate hit while playing in a pickup basketball game.
He said at the time: “A guy didn’t make a selection and he smashed my head, my head exploded and then I couldn’t lie about it.
“I came home with a black eye…”
HEALTHY AND ALIVE?
While the Hollywood star appears to be fine despite his injury, he sparked fear earlier this year when rumors of his death began circulating the internet.
Unknowing fans got wind of videos claiming he drowned or had a fatal accident.
However, it turns out that users were simply participating in a trend of telling people Adam was dead while filming their reaction.
The creators of the trend received a lot of backlash from fans, who branded the prank “sick.”
Adam has been married to his wife Jackie since 2003 and they have two children together: daughters Sadie, 16, and Sunny, 13.
