Actor Pablo Lyle found guilty of manslaughter as a heartbroken family cries in court after video captured a deadly street fight

An actor was found guilty of manslaughter Tuesday in connection with a 2019 traffic altercation that ended in death.

Mexican soap opera star Pablo Lyle, 35, fatally beat Juan Ricardo Hernandez, 63, during a confrontation in Miami.

He now faces up to 15 years in prison.

“Today’s jury verdict convicting Pablo Lyle of the manslaughter of 63-year-old Juan Ricardo Hernandez demonstrates the unprecedented destructive power of ‘road rage’ incidents,” said Miami-Dade District Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle. in a statement.

“Two lives have been shattered by simple street rage, a situation we see far too often on our streets and on the streets across the country.

“I am extremely proud of the efforts and hard work of Assistant District Attorneys Shawn Abuhoff and Gabriela Alfaro in bringing a measure of justice to Mr. Hernandez’s surviving family.”

Video from the incident showed Lyle confronting Hernandez before slapping him in the face.

The elderly man died when his head hit the sidewalk.

On Monday, Lyle said he would not take the stand during his defense, and his attorneys argued that Hernandez started the altercation by getting out of his car and banging on Lyle’s window.

It has been argued that Lyle defended his family after believing Hernandez posed a threat.

Prosecutors didn’t see it that way, arguing that Hernandez walked away and returned to his car before the punch.

Three witnesses reportedly testified that Hernandez had raised his hands in defense, with prosecutors arguing that there was no reason for Lyle to hit him at the time.

Lyle has starred in telenovelas such as Mi Adorable Maldición and also appeared in the Netflix drama Yankee.
