Actor & ‘cult leader’ Nathan Chasing Horse arrested after cops searched home he shares with five wives after shock allegations

A Native American actor believed to have started a cult has been arrested and accused of sexually assaulting young Indigenous girls.

Nathan Lee Chasing His Horse, best known for his role in the Oscar-winning film Dances With Wolves, was recorded Tuesday at his Las Vegas home where he lives with his five wives, police records show.

Chasing Horse gained notoriety among Native American communities in the United States and Canada by working as a medicine man performing healing rituals.

Now police say he used that position to abuse young indigenous girls.

According to an AP search warrant, officers have been investigating the actor since receiving a disturbing tip in October 2022.

Police were told the man allegedly ran a cult called The Circle in the Las Vegas area.

At least six potential victims have been identified by Las Vegas police, and allegations date back to the early 2000s.

The incidents reportedly happened in several states, including Montana, South Dakota and Nevada.

Chasing Horse was born on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota.

He was banned from the Fort Peck Reservation in Poplar, Montana, on allegations of human trafficking in 2018, the warrant reveals.

“Nathan Chasing Horse used spiritual traditions and her belief system as a tool to sexually assault young girls on numerous occasions,” the document said.

His followers believed he had healing powers and viewed him as a “medicine man” or “holy person,” the outlet reports.

According to the warrant, Chasing Horse was also charged with sex trafficking, facilitating sex with the victims and recording sexual assaults.

Some of the alleged victims were as young as 13 years old.

The warrant claims one of his wives was given to him as a “gift” when he was 15 and another became his wife after he turned 16.
