A preliminary investigation was launched last week after a woman accused the footie star of rape.
The woman claimed the 24-year-old attacked her after inviting her over to his home while his wife Hiba Abouk was on holiday with their children.
Hakimi was questioned by prosecutors on Thursday and denied wrongdoing.
The footballer’s lawyer, Fanny Colin, later released a statement noting that Hakimi “strongly denies” the allegations and claimed he was a victim of attempted extortion, ESPN reports.
The statement read: “According to the information currently available to the police, M. Hakimi is the victim of an attempted extortion in this case.”
“Achraf Hakimi firmly denied the allegations against him during his police interview.”
According to Le Parisien, the 24-year-old defender began speaking to the woman on Instagram on January 16.
He then allegedly invited her to his home in Boulogne on Saturday and reportedly ordered an Uber to take her.
She claimed he attacked her before she could kick herself free and then texted a friend to pick her up.
The woman went to a police station but said she did not want to press charges.
Because of the seriousness of the allegations, the public prosecutor’s office initiated investigations.
Meanwhile, TV actress Hiba, 36, is said to have dumped the star with reports suggesting they have been estranged for weeks.
They haven’t been seen together in public for months.
And after the rape allegation, according to Cierre Digital, she is “speeding up” the process of final separation.
She has not spoken publicly, but an Instagram post shows her walking with her two young sons on a beach in Dubai.
She captioned it “add moments” and added the hashtags “family first” and one with the translation “I would die for mine.”
The couple met in 2018 when Hakimi was in Dortmund and witnessed her move from Madrid.

They married in a secret wedding in 2020 before welcoming their first son, while their second child was born in 2022.
Hakimi has been credited with helping his national team reach the historic semi-finals of the 2022 tournament.
