A MOTORCYCLE accident in Lake George has killed two people, including an eight-year-old boy.
New York State Police are investigating the fatal crash, which occurred around 3:40 p.m. local time.
The crash happened on Route 9 near Lake George Expedition Park.
“A preliminary investigation revealed that a motorcycle was traveling north on Route 9 at high speed when it turned off the east shoulder of the road onto a paved bike lane and struck a group of six pedestrians standing at the entrance to the bike lane,” the said New York State Police in a statement.
The two deceased were identified as James A. Persons, 38, of Lake George, and Quinton P. Delgoteto, 8, also of Lake George.
Another pedestrian, Jasmine Luellen, 30, of Lake George, is in stable condition at Albany Medical Center.
Three children from the pedestrian group were not injured.
Motorcyclist Anthony J. Futia, 33, of Albany, NY, is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries at Albany Medical Center.
Lake George is a city in upstate New York in the Adirondack Mountains.
A huge motorcycle event took place in the Adirondacks this week.
Americade is a week-long festival held in Adirondack Park, about three hours from Lake George.
The festival includes various motorcycle events including tours, stunt shows, fairs and more.
