Abusive Andrew Tate is taken to the police station for further questioning in the sex trafficking investigation

DAMAGED Andrew Tate was handcuffed today and taken to a police station for further questioning.

The former kickboxer and his brother Tristan are being held in custody until the end of February as part of investigations into rape, human trafficking and organized crime.

On Wednesday morning, the handcuffed couple were bundled into a police van and taken to the Romanian Directorate of Investigation into Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) in Bucharest.

Prosecutors are understood to be searching Andrew and Tristan’s electronic devices seized as part of the investigation.

Police sources told Gandul that the brothers would be escorted to DIICOT for the computer searches.

When the handcuffed brothers arrived, Andrew whimpered, “You know we did nothing wrong. This file is completely empty.

“Of course it’s unfair, unfortunately there is no justice in Romania.”

When asked if he’d hurt women, Tate said, “Of course not.”

Tristan also shouted: “There is no evidence against me.

“The authorities plan to steal my cars and my money. That’s why I’m in prison.”

The couple’s lawyer, Eugen Vidineac, reportedly added: “The relevance of this evidence remains to be seen.

“They say they have important things to say, they really want to make statements. To talk about the charges against her.”

Andrew and his brother were arrested in December after their luxury Romanian villa was searched by police.

They are accused of luring women back to their mansion, where at least six were reportedly forced to appear in adult videos which were then sold online.

As part of the wide-ranging investigation, police officers confiscated Andrew’s car collection – which police sources estimate is worth around £6million.

Among the cars seized are a blue Rolls Royce Wraith estimated at £310,000 and a McLaren 765LT valued at up to £410,000.

The vehicles were taken to an undisclosed location.

Former police officer Luana Alexandra Radu, one of two suspected female accomplices arrested as part of the same investigation, also reportedly arrived with the brothers at DIICOT on Wednesday.

All four suspects are currently in prison in Romania after a judge ruled they must remain in custody until February 27.

Her lawyers deny all charges against her.

The Sun exclusively revealed that the homes of Tristan’s girlfriend Abigail Tyson and Andrew’s bodyguard Bogdan Stancu were also searched by police.

Neither is currently suspected of wrongdoing and being treated as potential witnesses.

Andrew first rose to fame after a short-lived appearance on Big Brother.

He was kicked off the reality show after alleged footage of him hitting a woman surfaced online.

Andrew – aided by his brother – then spent years building a warped empire promoting toxic worldviews that have infected legions of fans through TikTok.

Disguised as lifestyle advice, much of the content is in fact highly sexist and promotes violence against women.

His influence has spread worryingly among teenagers, with one UK MP saying he is “brainwashing” children.

Tate and his brother are said to have used the “loverboy” method to recruit women into their webcam business.

It is claimed that they would develop relationships with the women before taking them to their compound and webcam studio in Romania.

DIICOT claims the women are forced to perform webcam shows through “physical violence and mental coercion”.

The influencer was banned from Twitter in 2017 for violating its terms of service with his controversial comments.

In August, Tate was banned from a number of other social media sites – only to be reinstated on Twitter following Elon Musk’s takeover of the company.

But The Sun revealed that despite the allegations, YouTube is still promoting Andrew’s business.
