WRONG CHOICE

On September 13th last week, the full cast for Season 32 of DWTS was announced on Good Morning America.

NFL player Adrian Peterson is partnering Britt Stewart this season.

Despite a great football career, the 38-year-old made headlines for domestic violence.

In 2014, Adrian turned himself in to police and was charged with “reckless or negligent injury to a child in Texas.”

He spent less than 30 minutes in jail.

E! News reported that Adrian was released on $15,000 bond.

The soccer player’s lawyer told E! that Adrian “beat his then four-year-old son with a rod”.

This resulted in bruises and cuts all over the boy’s body.

Adrian ultimately pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of negligent bodily harm.

In addition to two years of probation, he was fined $4,000 and completed 80 hours of community service.

The NFL suspended him for a year.

Adrian has six children.

In 2022, Adrian was arrested again following allegations of domestic abuse with his wife, Ashley Peterson NBC News.

A COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT

DWTS fans expressed their outrage at the casting of Adrian given his abusive history, flooding a Reddit thread with their critical comments.

“The disappointment is REAL. I can’t believe the show openly casts a child molester. This is so disgusting,” the original poster read along with his and Britt’s promotional photo.

“I’m so sad,” another Reddit user agreed.

“I keep seeing people hating JLS but this guy is MUCH worse with his actions, he needs to go first,” said another.

Jamie Lynn Spears is also a part of this season, and fans have torn the show over her decision since she has been so vocal about not supporting her sister Britney.

A third asked: “I’m sure there would have been other athletes who would have done DWTS. Why a child abuser DWTS?”

“Britt doesn’t deserve this. The work she did last season was incredible. And now she’s stuck with him? He should never have been cast in the first place,” another fan wrote.
