AARON DONALD will return to the field this season and become the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
The Los Angeles Rams defensive star considered retirement after winning the Super Bowl at just 30 years old.
But the Rams announced Monday night that their defensive tackle will be back this season.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Donald will be guaranteed $65 million over the next two seasons.
He is the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
And there’s an option for Donald to either retire or come back in 2024 for another $30 million.
The $95 million deal is a $40 million upgrade to his old deal, which was worth $55 million.
But all $65 million in the first two seasons is fully guaranteed, versus $33.25 million guaranteed in his old deal.
Donald has eight Pro Bowl nominations and is a seven-time First Team All-Pro.
He was also named Defensive Player of the Year three times.
But this year, Donald finally achieved his goal of becoming a Super Bowl champion.
He helped the Rams win the Vince Lombardi Trophy at their home SoFi Stadium against the Cincinnati Bengals.
