Instead, the lucky employee, who lives in Chile, accidentally gets paid 300 times his salary.
Instead of paying the company back, he took the money and disappeared and has not been seen or heard from since.
According to local news agency Diario Financiero, the man reported the discrepancy in his salary to his manager, who passed it on to Human Resources.
The man agreed to return the stuff and told his employer he would go to the bank the next day.
Although he went to the bank, he actually pulled out the money and ran.
Consorcio – which makes cold cuts – tried to reach him over the next three days, but what they got back was a message from his lawyers offering his resignation.
The company never had an opportunity to accept or decline the termination as the man did not respond to any messages.
They filed a complaint with law enforcement officials, accusing the man of embezzling funds.
No arrests were made.
The average net salary in Chile is £750 per month.
