This savvy DIY pro managed to create his own for just £5.

Teresa Clarke, 45, from Essex, wanted to add some color to her home with vases but was annoyed by the high prices in shops.

She decided to try making her own from something she already had at home, a Lenor outdoor fabric softener bottle.

Teresa said: “I already had the empty bottle but they’re usually around £2 in local supermarkets.”

“I bought a 2 pound can of 101 Natural Hessian chalk spray paint from Poundland,” she continued.

“I already had the string but you can usually get it for £1!”

To create the stunning vase, Teresa started by cleaning the old bottle and removing the label.

After that, Teresa, who works as an NHS nurse, just covered the bottle with the spray paint.

Once the paint had dried properly, she wrapped a piece of twine around her creation, making it look chic and rustic in equal measure.

The ridges on the bottle make it look so expensive that you would never know it was once a laundry detergent.

Tressa estimates she saved herself at least £40 by making the vase herself at home.

When they shared their creation on Facebook, others were amazed by their frugal abilities.

Another added: “This is gorgeous! I’ll have to try that, thanks, I’d love to try the stone effect spray paint on it too.”

A third said: “Absolutely gorgeous!!! I’ve often wondered what these bottles could be used for. Great idea.”
