Local reports claim a young man, 18, was seriously injured after gunshots rang out near the game.

It is alleged that visiting Ultras arrived in cars and opened fire on home fans who had gathered in pubs and bars near the stadium – with at least seven injured from the hail of bullets.

Fighting also broke out inside and around the ground, with other injuries sustained from beatings and objects being thrown.

The police fired rubber bullets to disperse the warring groups.

It is also reported that a ‘sonic bomb’ was thrown and landed near the visitors’ ditch, with the referee initially halting play before quickly calling it off and escorting the players to safety.

Chaotic video shows fans fighting and throwing rockets while others run away in horror.

One video – too graphic to share – showed a boy clutching his stomach, covered in blood, while a paramedic treated him urgently.

The wounded and injured were taken to the nearby Nuestra Senora de Lujan municipal hospital.

A statement on Alem’s Facebook page read: “Unfortunately, due to incidents, the classic has been put on hold.

“What should be a football party is overshadowed by a group of violent people.”

Alem coach Horacio Fabregat is quoted by Ole as saying: “We’re in the dressing room, we have no way of getting out because we don’t have a microphone and we’re waiting [to find out] how we go home

“The leaders [of the club] are with us and the people of Lujan are seeing how we can [leave].

“I was the first to see that something was happening, I called the fourth referee and asked him to stop the game.

“From then on they asked us to go into the field, they started throwing stones at us and a very loud bomb fell nearby [dugout].

“I know something serious happened outside, but we don’t know who did what.”
