A slaughter erupts in Chicago, killing at least six people and shooting 23 people, including a 12-year-old boy

CHICAGO has been rocked by another deadly weekend of violence after at least six people were shot dead.

From Friday to Sunday evening there were a total of 23 gunshot victims, as confirmed by the Windy City police.

A 20-year-old man was shot dead in a kitchen on Sunday night, ABC7 reports.

A second man was killed standing on a sidewalk that same night.

In an incident on Sunday, a 12-year-old boy was shot and taken to hospital. He is expected to survive.

A 27-year-old woman was shot dead shortly after noon on Sunday.

The deadly weekend came just days after eight other people were shot dead in the city.

Two men, aged 64 and 26, were shot dead in the same incident on Saturday.

Brandon Slater was killed shortly after picking up his mother a cake for Mother’s Day, his family told NBC Chicago.

His mother, Diane Archer, told the outlet: “We were just planning our Mother’s Day dinner which I cooked for everyone as I always do and I just left it.

“He tried to do good. He had a son.”

Archer said Brandon was her second son to die of gun violence.

The second man killed was identified as 64-year-old Larry Purnell. He was reportedly mowing a lawn when he was hit.

Two teenagers were injured in a separate shooting on Saturday.

And on Friday, a man named Michael Conrad, 37, was killed in a drive-by shooting.

VIOLENT MOTHER’S DAY

A violent Mother’s Day also saw the body of a 30-year-old father found in a lake in Alabama on Sunday.

Three other people were found dead after gunfire erupted outside a Party City in Albuquerque, KOB 4 reported.

Also, there were three separate shootings in Philadelphia on Sunday.

A man and woman were killed, while four others were injured in the separate shootings over a two-hour period, NBC10 reported.

Six other people were shot dead in a single act of gun violence this Mother’s Day in Georgia.

Officials said three people were dead after responding to calls that one person had been shot, 11Alive reported.

TARGET SHOOTING

At least two other people were injured after a shooting in the state’s Target store parking lot.

And the bodies of three children were discovered in a Los Angeles home on Mother’s Day.

Brittany Kinlow, 23, of the University of Illinois was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head last Monday, May 2, according to local reports.

Officials have ruled her death a manslaughter.

Police found a second body in the same Belle Shore apartment building on Tuesday.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot said: “Particularly worrying is again the number of young people who appear to be involved in acts of violence.”
