‘A one-trick pony’ – Paul Scholes slams £85.5m winger Antony AGAIN after Man Utd win against Omonia in Europa League

PAUL SCHOLES has made another attempt at Manchester United newcomer Antony by calling him a “one trick pony”.
And fellow winger Jadon Sancho received another bang from the Old Trafford legend after his performances in the narrow Europa League win at Omonia Nicosia.

Scholes slammed the pair’s performances after United beat Manchester City 6-3 in the weekend’s derby.
And after watching his old club secure a nervous 3-2 win over the Cypriot Minnows thanks to substitutes Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, the 47-year-old let loose again.
After boss Erik ten Hag admitted his wide men were “too static”, Scholes told BT Sport viewers: “He was right about the wingers being static.
“Sancho never really chases after. He really needs a quick left-back or a center forward to link up with and he doesn’t really have that at the moment.
“Antony on the other side too, he doesn’t follow.
“He seems like a bit of a one trick pony.
“He always cuts inwards and either passes back to the full-back or has a shot.
“You think he needs to develop a bit. It’s still at the beginning, we know that.”

Sancho was replaced by Rashford at half-time while Antony was substituted for Fred in the 74th minute.
United paid £85.5million to Ajax in the summer for Brazilian Antony, 22, and he scored on his Premier League debut against Arsenal.
He also scored against City but Sun Sport exclusively revealed how he ignored Ten Hag’s defensive orders to backtrack before the mangle.
Sancho, 22, has scored three goals in ten games for United so far this season.
