An Italian designer has reinvented the future of flying with his 4×4 Jet Flying concept vehicle.
Designed by Pierpaolo Lazzarini in his own design studios, Aircar wouldn’t look out of place in the latest Star Wars spin-off series.
The concept has a small, pod-like appearance and is powered by Rolls-Royce jet engines, allowing it to soar through the sky at impressive speeds.
The 4×4 jet is six meters long and designed for one pilot and three passengers, allowing travelers to avoid busy traffic by simply flying off the ground.
The carbon fiber body means it’s ultra-light, while the Rolls-Royce jet engines can rotate in different directions depending on which direction you want to go – contributing to overall stability and manoeuvrability.
Powered by jet fuel, the aircar can fly at an estimated top speed of 750 km/h (460 mph) with a range of 3200 kilometers.
What’s special about Lazzarini’s creation is that it can spin quickly and move to different heights and speeds thanks to its 4×4 motor system – so you could be in a crowded city, mountainous area or wide open spaces and still be able to to find your way through.
For now, Aircar remains a flying concept vehicle, although Lazzarini intends to officially launch in 2024 with a first real-scale prototype before then being ready to ramp up production.
