At least two people were killed and several seriously injured in a mass shooting in Paris.

Emergency services were rushed to a community center near Paris’ Gare du Nord train station after a gunman opened fire.

The killer is believed to be a man in his 70s.

At least two people were killed and four injured, according to AFP.

A shopkeeper near the scene of the shooting said she heard seven or eight gunshots.

“It was total panic,” she said. “We locked ourselves in.”

Filming took place at a Kurdish cultural center on Rue d’Enghien in the 10th arrondissement of the French capital.

Police have urged people to stay away from the scene after gunfire rang out just after noon local time (11am GMT).

The suspected shooter was arrested.
