A mass shooting at a “pop-up party” along Coney Island’s iconic boardwalk has left one dead and four wounded.
Police said a 42-year-old man was shot in the back at the west end of the Riegelmann Boardwalk in Brooklyn and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four others – two men and two women, aged between 34 and 49 – were slightly injured after gunshots rang out during an alleged “pop-up party” on West 29th on Saturday.
They expected a full recovery and are being treated at NY Langone Hospital, according to officials.
It is not clear what led to the shooting, which is said to have taken place just before midnight, and no arrests have been made.
The NYPD has opened an investigation into the shooting.
Unconfirmed footage of what appears to be the crime scene shows first responders carting victims into two ambulances.
Four ambulances and four police vehicles are parked near the entrance to the promenade.
It comes after a shooting at a New Jersey mall killed one man and wounded two others.
Dramatic footage showed the shattered glass of a shattered window following the 1:20 a.m. Saturday shooting in Toms River.
Police rushed to the scene after a report of gunshots being fired.
When officers arrived, they found three gunshot victims.
A 29-year-old man was taken to the nearby Community Medical Center and pronounced dead, police told The US Sun.
The other two victims, a 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, were taken to Monmouth County for treatment.
The 29-year-old is currently in critical but stable condition in hospital.
After treatment for his injuries, the 25-year-old was released from the hospital.
NBC10 reported that investigators placed dozens of evidence markers in the mall’s parking lot.
According to the outlet, police were seen walking in and out of a hookah lounge where a window was blown out.
So far no suspects have been identified.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, but police said there is no known danger to the public at this time.
