A man and woman die after a terrible fire rips through their home despite desperate attempts to save them from a burning building

A MAN and woman have died after a horror fire ripped through their home despite attempts to rescue them from the burning building.
Ambulance services rushed to the scene at Glentworth Close in Oswestry, Shropshire around 4.20am.

The West Midlands Ambulance Service said the woman was rescued from the property and placed on extended life support before being hospitalized.
However, despite the best efforts of the medical staff, she died a short time later at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
The man was confirmed dead at the scene of the house fire by rescue workers.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When ambulance crews arrived they found fellow firefighters and police administering CPR to one occupant, a woman who had been rescued from the property and was in critical condition.
“Ambulance crews worked quickly to administer advanced life support before taking her to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on blue lights.
“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the ambulance and hospital staff, nothing could be done to save her and she was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.
“Unfortunately, a second occupant, a man, was confirmed dead by ambulance personnel at the scene.”
