But the helicopter disappeared from radar – prompting officials to sound the alarm.

A search between the regions of Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna had to be abandoned last night and resumed this morning, La Stampa reports.

According to local news reports, the helicopter was being used by a company called Roto Court, which makes hygiene products and household chemicals.

Company boss Giuliano Gelain told the ANSA news agency that they were “confident” that the helicopter had not crashed because no distress signal had been received.
