A FIREFIGHTER took a selfie in front of a smoldering Grenfell Tower and then used it on his Tinder profile.
Hundreds of residents were trapped inside the burning building in west London in June 2017. A total of 72 people died.

The shocking revelation was made yesterday during a session of the London Assembly reviewing the culture of the city’s fire service.
Report author Nazir Afzal told participants: “Immediately after Grenfell, after the fire had just raged, a male firefighter had a selfie taken of himself outside the building, which he then used as his Tinder profile.
“He was quickly told to get rid of it. After that, as far as I know, he received words of warning.”
Mr Afzal, the former Chief Attorney for North West England, then asked the Fire, Resilience and Emergency Planning Committee: “How did he feel entitled to do that?
“Why did he feel justified when 72 people died in the building, including 18 children?
“He felt it was more important how he saw other women on his social media page.”
The London Fire Brigade said they “sincerely apologize” for his actions.
A spokesman said: “In 2018, the Brigade took disciplinary action against an employee for using a grossly inappropriate photo on a dating profile.
“We understand how devastating this would be for the community of Grenfell and we sincerely apologize for his behavior.”
The review also found that within the LFB, which was placed under special measures in December, there was “a dangerous level of entrenched prejudice against women” and that minority colleagues were “frequently the target of racist attacks”.
Sexual harassment and abuse were dismissed as “banter” and some workers said they were told to “fit in or flee”.
Mr Afzal described speaking to witnesses during the investigation as “painful”.
Recalling one day he interviewed nine women about their experiences, he said: “At the end of the day, having run out of tissues given the amount of emotion in the room, I sought counseling about who I had been stop.
“I think given that I’m on an al-Qaeda hit list and far-right thugs attacked my home, that would give you a sense of how impactful those stories were to me.”
London Fire Services Commissioner Andy Roe told the panel he was “trying not to deny anything in this report”.
He added: “It was humbling for me to see what I suspected was uncovered with such terrible extremity and such strong evidence.

“But what it gives me is an absolute platform for change.
“I didn’t have to call Nazir, there was no political pressure, stories weren’t constantly being spread, but I felt like I didn’t have a choice because I could see that all the things I love about the fire service were being undermined depending on the level of behavior, I just couldn’t tolerate it.”
