A drunk easyJet passenger grabbed a flight attendant by the throat after drinking a bottle of whiskey on the plane

A DRUNK passenger grabbed a flight attendant by the neck after she drank a liter bottle of whiskey on a jet.

Passengers intervened when Colin Smith, 51, tried to hit the easyJet employee, with a man putting him in a headlock.

Smith lost it when she told him to stop climbing over other people to get to the toilet while the plane made its descent.

James Gore, Prosecutor, said: “He gave her a blank stare and grabbed her by the throat without warning or provocation.

“He kept hitting. . . and he would have hit her if he hadn’t been restrained.”

Smith, from Hull, admitted assault and drunkenness on the flight from Malta to Manchester in front of the city and Salford JPs.

He is later convicted in the Crown Court.
