‘A-class circus’ – PSG accuse Chelsea of ruining Hakim Ziyech’s career after the transfer was scrapped over paperwork

CHELSEA have been accused of wrecking Hakim Ziyech’s career as his loan move to Paris Saint-Germain collapsed “shambolic”.

The French giants launched a savage attack on the Blues, accusing them of botching documents after the Moroccan midfielder’s registration missed Tuesday’s 11pm transfer deadline by four minutes.

SunSport understands that furious Ziyech, 29, has even called Chelsea’s billionaire US owner Todd Boehly to ask him to clean up the mess. And PSG now have serious reservations about future deals with the London club.

PSG branded the paperwork a “class A circus” and a club insider revealed: “The way Chelsea behaved was shameful and disrespectful. I can’t describe it any other way.

“Now Hakim is going back to a club where he is not wanted and probably has no place.

“Chelsea ruined six months of his career. It’s really bad behavior, the club treated this transfer carelessly.

“There is a sense of utter dismay at how Chelsea have done this.

“It’s unacceptable for a club of their caliber but it seems to sum up their current way of doing business.”

PSG insist Chelsea ignored the email containing the initial loan agreement and a series of phone calls, replying 75 minutes later with a false unsigned document.

The Ligue Un champions also claim the Blues sent a SECOND wrong unsigned document before finally receiving the correct version three minutes after the deadline.

Ziyech’s transfer was then registered at 11:04 p.m. – four minutes after the cut-off point.

French league bosses rejected PSG’s appeals for ratification, ruling that there had been an “unjustified delay” in sending the documents to them.

Chelsea deny PSG’s version of events but admit ‘technical errors’ delayed paperwork.

The PSG insider added: “Hakim was at our Paris office on Tuesday midday asking Boehly to explain and clarify the raid. He even agreed to contribute to the deal to be released.

“It was Chelsea’s fault, pure and simple. It was unprofessional.”

The collapse of the Ziyech transfer came at the same time as Chelsea successfully completed their record-breaking British £106million signing of Argentinian midfielder Enzo Fernandez from Benfica.

Ziyech, who has made ten Premier League appearances this season, is now in limbo and will be dropped from the London club’s Champions League squad in the coming days to make way for some of their new signings.

Chelsea say Ziyech traveled to Paris without permission before the botched deal but won’t punish him.

Newcastle and Spurs have been linked with Ziyech, while Roma were looking to sign him before PSG made their late dive.
