Although their fins are not visibly sticking out of the water, the giant animals can get dangerously close to those enjoying the water.

A video from last month shows a great white shark shark only 20 or 30 meters away from two unsuspecting surfers.

To keep an eye on them, Nevada Summers, who took the pictures, kept watch until the couple was out of the water.

Summers shares the clips he captures with a drone and warns swimmers and surfers to be careful before entering the water.

“I’ve seen firsthand how they react to each other,” he said Fox 26 news.

Summers has been visiting Pismo Beach for over a year to take drone footage.

The hobby started after he went surfing and returned home to tell his wife he had seen a shark.

“I said to my wife, ‘Hey, I saw a shark.’ I don’t think she believed me until I mentioned the drone,” he said.

Summers added, “I probably go out to find sharks once a week, and I’d say about 75 to 80 percent of the time I usually find at least one shark — if not more.”

The avid surfer pointed out that surfers and swimmers must respect that the ocean is home to sharks if they want to stay safe.
