9-1-1The festive fall finale presented viewers with a thrilling game of hurdles – one we’ve been wanting to return to. (We can’t go back to the time when the elves were mistaken Buck and Eddie for Christopher’s father? The best Christmas ever!)
In stark contrast to that magical past vacation, Monday’s episode finds Eddie at a fork in the road. When Christopher expresses his fear that this could be Eddie’s last Christmas – and given his father’s recent achievement, not to mention what happened to poor Shannon, you can’t exactly blame boy – Eddie is forced to face the reality of his job, and whether it’s worth it for his son to go through so much pain.
After weighing his options for an hour, Eddie finally decided: “I think I have to change. I will leave the 118”.
First Michael, now Eddie – the characters in this show are flying like flies! Never mind the fact that Chimney and Maddie are still MIA and we can’t be the only ones to think we’ll see more of Albert this season.
But it’s Eddie really leave? Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until the show’s fifth season resumes in March 2022.
Also worth discussing…
* On a slightly more encouraging note, although Buck spent most of his time emphasizing on what to expect Taylor for Christmas, he ended up landing the perfect gift – a rescue beacon, so he can always come to her rescue. Good, she anyway thought it was the perfect gift. And that’s really all that matters.
* This week’s side episodes include two women finding out they’re married (with kids!) to the same man, a husband accidentally destroying his apartment building with a tree Christmas is too big, a lonely elderly woman keeps calling 9-1-1 just to have someone to talk to, and an office romance goes awry. (Anyone familiar with that symbol Law of LA The scene can predict the poor woman falling down the elevator.)
