911 Lone Star Summary: Season 3, Episode 8 – [Spoiler]Explanation of the death of the dead

Completing last week’s amazing final twist, Monday 9-1-1: Lonely Star turn back the clock for one hour central Gwyn that has left us with a new appreciation for Lisa Edelsteinbad character.

Zero punch happened during this bittersweet hour, starting with a devastating 9-1-1 phone call made by a delivery guy named Liam who accidentally crashed into Gwyn with his bike. he. Liam’s description of the gruesome scene, including the realization that Gwyn was dead after hitting his head on the street, is extremely difficult to hear. I know I’m not the only one sobbing when he starts telling baby Jonah how much his mom loves him. (An excavator can only take so much!)

“[Showrunner] Tim Minear was always keeping me informed of what he was planning in Gwyn’s world so I knew a lot in advance,” Edelstein told TVLine of Gwyn’s sudden death. “And anyway, when I had Enzo, I felt like my days were numbered! (Just kidding). ”

And while Edelstein is ready to act out Gwyn’s death on screen (“I love stunts adventures”), in the end she’s glad we didn’t see the whole thing unfold. “Being covered in that horrible, sticky fake blood in other jobs, maybe I feel a little bit more relieved,” she said. “Not only was it sticky (thinking about it on my neck still makes me cringe), but they had to keep wetting it with a cold spray. So I changed my mind: yes, I’m relieved that they killed me in front of the camera! ”

Edelstein’s Farewell Hour tells the stories of two very different flights: TK and Owen’s current trip to Gwyn’s funeral, which they missed because their plane nearly crashed, and their previous flight. TK and Gwyn go to a rehab facility in California, where she takes her son. after dragging him out of a drug house in New York. In addition to being an important memory to his mother, TK’s flashback is also triggered because he nearly stole several vials of fentanyl from the drug bag. If Owen hadn’t caught him in action, things would have turned out very differently.

Much like the fantasies of sedation earlier this season, the scenes between TK and Gwyn paint a clear picture of their relationship. She is the protector of his life, someone determined to save him whether he wants to help or not.

“My scenes with the lovely Ronen [Rubinstein] was very emotional, so it was built into the work,” said Edelstein of filming those scenes together, adding that Minear “ wanted to use Gwyn’s death as a way to strengthen the story and relationship between Gwyn and TK. To really understand what she meant to him in her absence, it’s sad how many people learn to appreciate those they once loved.”

Speaking of appreciation, Edelstein added, “I was amazed at how moved my co-stars were by my fictional death! Sweet person. ”

As for Gwyn’s legacy, Edelstein knows exactly how she wants fans to remember her character: “A great mother of course!” she speaks. “Also, as a super sexy ex-wife who is so young for her age and amazingly fit, who is smarter than any woman they’ve ever seen and sexier than they are. think. Yes. That sounds like the perfect way for Gwyn to be remembered.”

Then again, it’s entirely possible that this won’t be the last time we see Gwyn, given the Lone Star’s penchant for dream sequences.

“I mean, the producers refused to give me the traditional ‘It’s a series ending for Lisa’ premiere, so one never knows!” Edelstein said of the possibility of an appearance in the film. Fantasy Gwyn has the best lighting on the show anyway, so I’m fine with appearing in a few dream scenes here and there.
