Playing the hero came with a potentially fatal price for some members of 126 on Monday like 9-1-1: Lonely Star: Ice Storm raging into its second week.
Let’s start with poor TK, who started the hour by rescuing that boy from under the ice… and ended it on his hospital bed, facing possible death (but certainly not going to be). is) of the boy. Even before Tommy realized that TK disappeared in a blizzard, it became clear that his personal victory would be short-lived; There was no way he could be this wet and cold without triggering a bout of hypothermia.
That said, we don’t expect Tommy and Nancy to find their dead teammate naked and shivering in a snowy ditch. Never mind that he also tried to hit them with a stick and suddenly started speaking Hebrew. These were all symptoms of TK’s dangerous condition, which eventually brought him to the ICU.
“Typical TK, this is the first time he’s wanted to talk to me in months and he’s in the ICU,” Carlos commented upon arrival. But his cavalier demeanor quickly turns to genuine concern when Nancy reveals that she asked Carlos on TK’s behalf. “It’s not good,” she said with tears in her eyes. And their fear only grows when Tommy shows up after her encounter with TK’s doctor: “We need to find his father.”
Also worth discussing…
* For someone who was tired of being a hero, Owen was basically pushed into his most heroic situation. Not only did he pull a stranger from the snow, but he also bandaged his wound and successfully broadcast for help with an old ham radio. Sadie has become feisty and preoccupied watching Owen do her thing, and you know what? Alike. Unfortunately, Owen’s patient was confused and bolted, forcing Owen back into the snow. After losing consciousness, Owen is brought in by a group of people on the run from their prairie captors, one of whom happens to be the one he rescued in the cabin. (Oops!) To make matters worse, the episode ends with that very same wolf appearing at the scene, gun in hand.
* More to the point, Paul successfully rescued that teenage girl from the ice palace this week. To stay sane and warm, they focused on the things that made them angry, an exercise that elicited some extremely strong emotions from Paul about 126’s shutdown and disbandment.
