SAFE to say that the whole world is mourning the death of Betty White, the last Golden Girl standing.
And even though she’s spent most of her life in front of TVs and cameras, there are still a few things people don’t know about her.
Here are seven things we bet you didn’t know about the Hollywood icon:
ACTION IS NOT HER FIRST CHOICE
And although she’s enjoyed tremendous success as an actress, she originally wanted to be a writer.
That’s right, if she hadn’t had her first shot in 1951 to star in Hollywood on Television, she would have had to write. And maybe she’ll be very good, too.
ONE OF HOLLYWOOD’S FIRST WOMAN MANUFACTURERS
In 1951, when she took over Hollywood On Television, Betty became a producer.
She co-founded her own production company named after her dog, Bandy Productions.
At the time, she was considered one of Hollywood’s first female producers.

END THREE TIMES
Before marrying the love of his life, Allen Ludden, Betty has tied the knot twice before.
Before that, the actress was married to US Army pilot Dick Barker for a year in 1945.
In 1947, she married Hollywood spy Lane Allen and they were together for only two years.
“I’ve had an amazing 18 years with Allen Ludden,” she said in one Interview with Piers Morgan in 2012. “The first two were … rehearsals.”
She has never had children, but she was a wonderful stepmother to Allen’s three children.
ALMOST PLAYED BLANCHE DEVEREUX
When she auditioned for Golden Girls, the producers initially offered her the role of Blanche.
She actually declined and asked to play Rose Nylund, the character that would become her most iconic character.
In the end, the role of Blanche went to what would become one of her best friends, Rue McClanahan.
KEEP THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS
In addition to being an actress and a producer, Betty is also a Guinness World Record holder.
In 2013, she became a female entertainer with the longest television career, with 74 years of experience.
The oldest person to HOST SNL
In addition to having one of the longest television careers, Betty also became the oldest host on Saturday Night Live.
She has 88 years old at that time.
She also went on to win a Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her place on SNL.
TO DOWNLOAD THE ROLE OF THE MOVIE
Betty is an animal lover.
Too much for that she turned down a part in the 1997 film As Good as it Gets because she protested the scene where a dog was thrown down the laundry chute.
You can do those jobs when you’re Betty White.
