Maine residents receive rebate checks worth up to $1,700

Officials in Maine have mailed rebate checks worth $850 per person and $1,700 for joint applicants.

In June, officials sent out as many as 200,000 rebate checks every week.

That would mean most payments would be made by the end of last month.

Gov. Janet Mills’ office said checks will be written on a rolling basis through the end of 2022.

In terms of income, an individual cannot exceed $100,000, while heads of household and couples can earn up to $150,000 and $200,000 respectively.

These are based on tax returns for 2021 to be filed by October 31st.
