30-year-old man arrested for ‘murder’ after woman found dead on country lane by dog walker

A MAN has been arrested in a murder investigation after the body of a woman was tragically discovered yesterday morning.
Officers were called to Wast Hills Lane in Hopwood, Birmingham, earlier this morning after a dog walker made the grim discovery on the country lane.

Her death is currently being treated as unsolved by West Mercia Police as they continue their investigation.
A 30-year-old man was arrested last night on suspicion of murder.
A second man, aged 51, was also arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to the perpetrator.
Both men remain in police custody pending investigations.
A cordon remains in place on Wast Hills Lane, which will remain closed after the probe is launched.
A West Mercia Police spokesman said: “We are currently conducting inquiries after the body of a woman was found on Wast Hills Lane in Hopwood this morning.
“There is a police chain in place while the investigation continues. Wast Hills Lane is closed at the junction with Lea End Lane and at the junction with Redhill Road.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained.”
