Matthew Betts, 55, is said to have made a social media post saying he would “do an ancestral dot com to put an end to it” and referred to the sheriff’s office and family of Albert, according to the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office.
The reported threat was first detected by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office of Virginia, which later realized the real target of that threat was actually the Pennsylvania office.
Betts was discovered at a residence in Lower Burrell on Saturday morning, where police say two people initially denied that Betts was there.
Betts has been arrested because he does not yet have a wanted warrant for another case, but other charges will be filed.
