PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police arrested a suspect in connection with the deadly Bellevue shooting earlier this week.
DeAngelo Zieglar charged shoot 28-year-old Rachel Dowden as she waited at a bus stop on Lincoln and Sheridan Avenue on Wednesday.
She works at the Cricket store a few blocks away.
According to police paperwork, Zieglar had a history of abusing Dowden, who was protected from an abuse order last November, valid until 2024.
Police papers also say officers were charged over a family incident between the two earlier this month where Zieglar allegedly stole a gun that Dowden had purchased and stabbed him with it. aunt.
Investigators said video of Wednesday’s shooting allegedly showed Zieglar and another man getting off a bus in Bellevue, and watching Dowden before she was shot.
Police said the serial number of Dowden’s gun was the same one that was recovered after the shooting.
Zieglar is facing murder charges, tampering with evidence and weapons charges.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for next month.
