22 years old killed in Westmoreland County Mistaken stabbing of a favorite Hunting and penguins Pittsburgh – CBS Pittsburgh

WESTMORELAND COUNTY (KDKA) – Police are still trying to figure out how a motorist went the wrong way, causing a fatal crash in Westmoreland County.

Seven people were injured and a 22-year-old man was killed in a crash involving a van and small sedan on Sunday.

Zeth Reber loves hunting, playing hockey, and his Honda. It was his orange Honda Civic that cost a man in Washington Town his life.

Late Sunday afternoon, Reber was heading East on 380 East Road when investigators say a truck driven by Abigale Jones, 23, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, hit Reber’s vehicle.

Washington Township Police would not film, but officials told KDKA Jones was driving west on an eastbound lane. The impact killed Reber, while Jones and six other people in her car were all injured and taken to a local hospital.

How Jones got on the wrong side of the divided highway remains unclear. Investigators said that because the collision occurred on an ascending bend, Reber likely had no warning and no way to avoid the collision.

In a heartbreaking and haunting coincidence the day before his death, Reber – a professional welder and a graduate of Kiski Area High School – shared the following post on his Facebook page.

“If you remember anything about me after I left this world, remember that I loved even when it was foolish. That I care even if it’s undesirable. When my boy is no more, remember my heart”.

Police said Reber was wearing a seat belt and was not on his phone at the time of the crash

While the investigation is still ongoing, police say it is likely to charge Jones.
