2022 Delphi Murders Press Conference – Updates are expected this morning on the deaths in Indiana following the arrest of Richard Allen

“Murder in the Room”

More than two years after the audio clip was released, Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter held a press conference to unveil a new composite sketch of the alleged killer.

During the conference, Carter said police believed the killer had local connections, shockingly claiming that the killer could even sit in the room with them.

“To the killer who may be in this room, we think you’re hiding in plain sight,” Carter said. “We probably interviewed you or someone close to you.”

Carter added that investigators believe the suspect was between 18 and 40 years old but likely looks much younger than him.

“We also believe this individual is from Delphi — currently or previously lived, regularly visits Delphi, or works here,” Carter said.

He did not accept any replies during or after the press conference, but what he said at the time seemed to indicate that the police believed they were on the verge of identifying the suspect.

“We’re confident you told someone what you did. Or at least they know because you’re so different since the murders,” he said.
