2022 Child Tax Credit Update – Americans Receive $750 in Direct Payments in Weeks – Exact Deadline Date and How to Apply

AMERICANS are due to receive $750 in direct payments in just a few weeks, but the deadline to apply is fast approaching.
Connecticut families could claim up to $750 worth of child tax credits starting June 1.
The credit is worth $250 for each eligible child, and people can receive benefits for up to three children if they apply before July 31.
Gov. Ned Lamont signed the Connecticut Child Tax Rebate 2022 into law on May 9 after the state posted a budget surplus of nearly $4 billion and decided to return some of that money to taxpayers.
Gov. Lamont expects payments to run out in August and urges, “All eligible families in Connecticut to submit an application to have the rebate mailed to you without delays.”
While the enhanced federal child tax credit has now expired, families can look to similar state programs they live in for assistance.
The Sun has a detailed list of child tax credit programs in each state, including benefit levels and eligible families.
