15 fall mocktail recipes for your fall break from alcohol
Maybe this fall you’re thinking about taking a break from drinking. It’s always nice to have a restart for gut health and a rest for the liver. Or maybe you’re newly pregnant, or sober and curious, or don’t drink at all. Luckily, this fall, you don’t have to sacrifice flavor or fun by giving up alcohol. Here are 15 fall mocktails to enjoy this fall.
These recipes come primarily from a leading cocktail and mocktail recipe book called The art of mixology, and I’ve adapted some classic recipes to make them non-alcoholic while adding a few recipes of my own. Enjoy!
1. Cider Sunset
Who doesn’t love apples in the fall? Perfect to end a day in the orchard.

½ cup fresh apple cider, warmed

cinnamon stick
-
pinch of nutmeg
-
a few drops of angostura bitters
-
(optional) a few drops of PeaceLoveHormones Bitters

Orange peel
Pour warm apple cider into a mug (try a glass mug for extra aesthetic appeal). Add bitter substances and nutmeg and mix with the cinnamon stick. Rub the rim of the cup with the orange zest and add to the cider.

2. Cranberry Sour
A classic take on a whiskey sour but with cranberry added for extra flavor. Paired with pre-Thanksgiving dinner appetizers, you can’t go wrong.
Put crushed ice cubes in a cocktail shaker and pour the whiskey alternative over the ice. Add lime juice, cranberry juice and simple syrup. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with the cherry.

3. Alcohol-free mulled wine
For the later autumn days, this is perfect to enjoy with a blanket, fireplace and your favorite novel.
Place all ingredients in a saucepan and stir. Simmer for 35 minutes, then strain the liquid. Taste and add maple syrup as needed. Serve in cups. Serves four.

4. Old-fashioned style pumpkin spice
Far less sugar than a pumpkin spice latte, but just as much respect owed.

1 sugar cube

a pinch of angostura bitters

add a pinch of pumpkin spice

3 oz Ritual Whiskey Alternative

4-6 ice cubes, cracked

Orange zest twist for garnish
Place the sugar cubes in a small, chilled cocktail glass. Add angostura bitters, pumpkin spice and half of the whiskey alternative. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Pour in the remaining whiskey alternative. Add the crushed ice and garnish with orange zest.

5. Ginger Sparkling
Ginger has incredible medicinal value and can help ward off fall sniffles. Combined with mint, its sharp, fresh flavor is delicious.

fresh mint, plus some for garnish

broken ice

Orange zest twist for garnish
Blend 2 oz of ginger beer with several sprigs of fresh mint until smooth. Pour into a glass over cracked ice. Top up with the remaining ginger beer and garnish with a mint sprig and orange zest.

6. Autumn *Sangria*
This citrus-rich, alcohol-free sangria will add vitamin C and flavor to your day.

1 Bottle (750ml) Fre Merlot

2 c orange juice
-
½ cup cranberry juice
-
2 ounces lemon juice
-
2 ounces lime juice
-
3 ounces of simple syrup
-
1 ounce PeaceLoveHormones Bitters (optional)

Ice
-
Lemon, lime and orange slices
Combine all ingredients except ice and fruit slices in a large bowl. Stir well and refrigerate for an hour. Add ice and garnish with fruit slices in the sangria and on the rim of the bowl. For five people.

7. Espresso Cinnamon Mockini
The cousin of an espresso martini, this mocktail delivers hangover-free class.
Combine espresso, vodka alternative, coffee liqueur alternative, simple syrup and heavy cream in a cocktail glass. add ice. Shake thoroughly. Pour into martini glasses and top with a pinch of cinnamon and 3 coffee beans.

8. Apple Pie Cream
The perfect combination with warm apple pie.

4-5 ice cubes

3 ½ ounces apple juice
-
1 small scoop of vanilla ice cream

2 ounces of Ritual Tequila Alternative
-
Soda
-
Cinnamon sugar and apple for garnish
Place the ice cubes in a blender and add apple juice, tequila alternative and ice cream. Blend for 15 seconds until fluffy and fluffy. Pour into a glass and top up with lemonade. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and garnish with an apple slice.

9. Fake Kir Royale
The original drink emerged from French resistance to the Nazis during the fall of France in 1940; This non-alcoholic version preserves the Esprit de Resistance.
Pour raspberry syrup and a dash of bitters into a chilled wine glass filled with ice. Pour in sparkling apple juice and stir. Garnish with raspberry.

10. Pumpkin Spice Coconut Cream
This creamy concoction is the perfect dessert drink; Try it with a side of pumpkin pie after your Thanksgiving meal.

1 cup crushed ice

1 ounce simple syrup

Whipped cream with pumpkin spice as a topping

Place coconut cream, tequila alternative, ice and simple syrup in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a cocktail glass and garnish with whipped cream and a pinch of pumpkin spice.

11. The Sagittarius
Perfect for a September evening celebrating the start of the hunting season. The adaptogens have a natural mood-relaxing effect and the scent of this mixture will soon delight you.
Mix all ingredients in a long glass. Taste it and add more bitters if needed.

12. Grand Royal Clover Club
Founded at the Bellevue Stratford Hotel in Philadelphia in the late 1800s, the original Clover Club has endured for many seasons. The non-alcoholic version will surely prove to be just as long-lasting.

¾ oz lemon juice

a pinch of angostura bitters

¾ oz grenadine

1 egg white

Ice

Twist off the lemon zest for garnish
Shake gin alternative, lemon juice, bitters, grenadine and egg white vigorously on ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon zest.

13. Shady lady
A little mysticism, a lot of class. It has a brilliant color, just like the anthocyanins.

2 ounces Arkay Orange Napoleon

¾ oz cranberry juice
-
Splash of lime juice
-
tonic water
-
Ice
-
Blood orange slice for garnish
In a cocktail shaker, shake the Orange Napoleon, cranberry juice, lime juice and ice over ice. Pour into a martini glass. Top up with a dash of tonic water and garnish with a blood orange slice.

14. Diamond Fizz
Fall weddings? Absolutely dreamy. Serve this option at the bar for those who don’t drink alcohol and they will no doubt be impressed.
Shake the gin alternative, lemon juice and simple syrup over ice in a cocktail shaker until cold. Strain into a chilled flute. Top with Fre Sparkling Brut and serve immediately.

15. Boston Sour
Have you ever been to Boston in the fall?

¾ oz lemon juice

½ ounce simple syrup
-
2 oz Ritual Whiskey Alternative
-
1 egg white
-
Maraschino cherry for garnish

Lemon slice for garnish

Ice
Pour ice into the cocktail shaker. Pour the lemon juice, whiskey alternative and simple syrup over the ice. Add the egg white. Shake for about 45 seconds until cool. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with the lemon wedge and maraschino cherry.
