Eisenhower High School freshman killed, other teenagers injured

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – A teenage girl was killed and six others injured Monday night in a crash in Palos Heights.

According to Palos Heights police, six teenagers were in a Honda Civic on Monday night heading east on College Drive near Ridgeland Avenue. The driver lost control of the vehicle, swerved into the grass, and then crossed into the westbound lane. The Honda then collided with the Chevy Tahoe with a single inside steering stroke.

Three teenage girls were found pushed out of the vehicle. Madison Harrison, 14, is among them. She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Five other teenagers and Tahoe’s driver were taken to hospital. At least one of the victims included in the final list is in critical condition.

Madison is a freshman at Eisenhower High School.

The school posted a notice on its Facebook page Tuesday that read in part: “My deepest sympathies go out to the Harrison family. We share the news of the death of Eisenhower High School freshman Madison Harrison with the heaviest of hearts. She was killed in a car crash on Monday night. … Please pray for Madison and her family. ”
